Hello Dolls, Confidence is key. Its something that every main character emulates through their style in every episode, movie and scene. Get my TOP TIPS to perfecting your look! WATCH the Style Video Being the main character in your life also means dressing the part. There is an art to being the main character in your life & an expectation to dress like such. Let’s begin. Choose to be FEARLESS. I know the feeling you can get when you walk into a room & it feels like everyone’s head is turning to look at you. You can either choose to love it or hate it. You can choose to activate your runway walk or shrivel in embarrassment & look down as you B-line to your destination. I will admit, in my past, I’ve put on a darling outfit and thought, ‘Wait, am I overdressed? Do I look too done up?’ In actuality, I’ve dressed appropriately for my planned outing, but I question my look because I fear capturing too much attention. If you look stunning, YES you will capture attention. That’s the reality of looking good. As long as you’re not showing up to a baseball game wearing a silky long dress, then you’re fine. Always dress for the occasion, but there’s nothing wrong with looking polished & stylish. For all the Dolls who have done what I’ve done, please dear stop shrinking yourself . Life is too short to be insecure and worrisome about things that don’t matter. So what, some people may turn their heads to look at you. They will either: A. look at you & pay you a compliment or B. look at you, then continue with their business. It’s not as serious as you may overthink it to be. From what I’ve seen circling on social media, here in America we’re often embarrassed to be overdressed , but certain countries overseas are actually often embarrassed to be underdressed . This is the month, the season, the year, that we dress like the main character no matter where we are. 2. Dress the part, be the part. As the main character, everyone’s eyes glance over to you. Your aesthetic is your personal style, how you choose to brand yourself with your clothes. Whether some choose to accept it or not, everyone has a personal brand. When you go out in public, you’re representing yourself. That occurs whether you’re in the library, going grocery shopping, on a quick coffee run, on a date or going shopping. So now we get into the fun part, choose your STYLE. How does the dream you dress? Create a mood/style board to help you figure out your desired style. This doesn’t mean you have to go on a major shopping spree immediately. Choose out of your board and pinpoint which pieces you currently have in your wardrobe. Then start to create outfits. Don’t forget to be DARING. Create a wardrobe that is timeless, but still pleasing to your current taste & interests . I personally have a feminine style and depending on the day, season, or year it can lean more barbie doll, prep, cottagecore or girly. So don’t put yourself into a box. You can always explore different aesthetics but be sure to curate your wardrobe with the necessary basics. Don’t try too hard to accomplish a certain ‘look’. Being the main character is always about being authentically you . I wouldn’t say Kerry Washington had the most stunning style on her TV show, but it fit her character & it was simply elegant. Don’t overanalyze & put pressure on yourself to meet certain standards. You don’t have to have the classic flap in order to be ‘that girl’ nor do you have to have a crazy large & colorful closet to be ‘interesting’. 5. Create the main character’s wardrobe on their off-days & home. I’ve never seen Blair Waldorf dress in sweatpants and baggy T-shirts during her time at home or when she was waking up. It’s not an on & off outfit that suddenly makes you into the main character. Over the past 2 years, I have curated wardrobes that feed into my aesthetic and cater to my everyday life. I have a collection of elegant and feminine go-to outfits for grocery shopping & errands. I also have a wardrobe for lounging that still allows me to emulate feminine elegance while being comfortable at home. I’ve always seen myself as being the housewife who walks around in silk dresses and stunning robes at home. Therefore, as I shared in my video ‘How to look feminine at home’ , I rid my closet of all scruffy old pajamas and slowly built up my nightgown and robe collection. 6. Set a REASONABLE Budget The majority of these items, I purchased at a discount or on sale. As my grandfather told me, just because I have $100, doesn’t mean I want to spend $100. Shop smart, ladies 😉 I try to shop for fall season, in the spring. I shop for Winter items, in the summer. You can shuffle through the leftovers & look through the sale & clearance items for your wardrobe staples & basics. Of course buy your new & interesting pieces when it comes to those heartthrob statement pieces, but save when you can. I often score deals for 70% off retail price! CHOOSE items that COMPLIMENT your BODY SHAPE & KNOW your Seasonal COLOR PALETTE Knowing what colors favor you, is life changing. Yes of course, have fun and experiment with different colors & patterns. Yet, when you find that perfect shade of red, or your favorite color in the most complimentary tone, you'll feel like you're stepping in a whole new world. Are you a Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer? Try taking different quizzes to help you find your color season. I found this color season quiz to be very helpful! Knowing my body shape & the most complimentary silhouettes saves me time & money I remember buying pieces that looked perfect on the mannequin or on the rack, but when I try it on it looked frumpy and unflattering. Pinpointing which silhouettes compliment my shape the best, makes online shopping much easier. Not to mention, you save time from trying on clothing items that just doesn't work. Hello Dolls, It's September, the introduction to the autumn. This recipe is the perfect way to welcome in the fall season. Its warm, incredibly moist & strums the perfect tune to any autumn lover's heart. It is my favorite pumpkin dessert I've baked to this day! Watch me prepare & bake this recipe in my Housewife Diary Vlog . Muffins 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (187.5 grams) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil (80 ml) 1/2 cup brown sugar (100 grams) 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams) 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 cup milk (60 ml) 1 cup pure pumpkin puree (240 ml) Streusel Top 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (62.5 grams) 1/4 cup brown sugar (50 grams) 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams) 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter (56 grams) Glaze 1/2 cup powdered sugar (55 grams) 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Line your muffin pan with muffin liners , or as I shown in my Homemaking Vlog, butter the pan, then line with triangle-cut parchment paper. I also used jumbo muffin tins. Shop my baking favorites HERE . Pumpkin Muffin Batter In a bowl, add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk together until smooth. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, another 1/2 cup of brown sugar, another 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, vanilla, milk and pumpkin puree. Whisk until mixture is smooth & fully incorporated. Pour in 1/2 of the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Whisk together, then add in the remaining dry ingredients. Whisk until smooth and there are no more lumps. Streusel Top This part is incredibly simple. The streusel top creates a complimentary texture for the smooth, moist muffins. Stir together the brown sugar, white sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl Add in the melted butter & mix. The texture should resemble clumpy damp sand. Preparing Your Treats for the Oven Pour the muffin batter evenly between the muffin pan. I fill mine up 90% to achieve at big top. You can also fill it up 3/4 of the way. Add the streusel on top of each muffin. Fill the top generously. You want the tops to be fully covered, so it's okay if it may look like it's a lot. Bake in the preheated oven on 375F degrees for about 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. While the muffins are baking, prepare the glaze icing! ( See directions below ) Let the muffins cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove the muffins from the pan and continue cooling. Now, its time to create the... Glaze! To optimize time, create the glaze while muffins are baking! Whisk together ½ cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon of milk or cream. You want a thin consistency so you can drizzle the icing on top of the muffins, creating a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled muffins. et Voila! The perfect pumpkin treat that looks, tastes & smells like autumn. Enjoy with a cup of tea or a pumpkin spice latte! Plenty of family gatherings equals a lot of baking for the holiday season. I also simply find myself gravitating towards baking during the start of fall. Hello Dolls, In my latest Housewife Diary Vlog , I indulge in a bit of daily self-care and primping, prepare a new favorite, chipotle chicken paninis, do a bit of shopping, shop my wardrobe and more. Now I'm sharing all of the highlight products and similar items that I use in every Housewife Diary vlog . - Highlight in my Makeup Routine - The Diorskin Forever Powder Foundation . I've had mine since 2020 and I'm just finishing it. I wrote a Dior Powder Foundation review and created video review on this Holy Grail product. At the time, this was sold out and hard to find so I bought 2 of them out of fear of it being discontinued. To my surprise, Dior reformulated this powder foundation to have more naturally-derived ingredients along with more shades. I wear shade 060 in the old formulation, which pulls a bit dark on my complexion. I'm unsure of what shade I am in the new formulation, but I'm betting on 050. I used multiple eyeshadow palettes in this vlog. I would recommend all of them! Depending on your needs and occasions, one might suit you better than the other. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Quad . Using that one again, I combined it with the Pat McGrath Bronze Borealis or Iconic Illumination quad. For a bit more fun, I added in the coral shade from the CT Pillow Talk 12-pan palette . As for lips, I used the PML Lust lip gloss in Sunset Rose . It is my all time favorite lip gloss formula. I dressed myself in robes throughout the week as it is my favorite style uniform as a housewife. I adore robes from In Bloom by Jonquil, but unfortunately they are sold out of the satin robe I was wearing in the vlog. They have a wonderful selection and this lace pink robe would be my next pick. At the start, I wore my plush robe with black lining from Victoria Secret. At this time, my blush plush robe currently on SALE in other colors. As I mentioned in the vlog, I've been trying out new recipes to cook at home. The lunch menu tends to have less attention than the breakfast and dinner menus. Therefore I've been trying recipes that I enjoy at restaurants when I go out. I enjoy a good panini with a salad or soup. Fun fact, I'm not the biggest fan on bigger panini press appliances made for the home. Since its just me & hubs, I don't need to make larger lunch portions. Therefore, it's best for me to buy a Cast Iron Press , see if paninis, pressed sandwiches or burgers will become apart of our menu staples, then make the choice to buy a large panini press appliance. As every good hostess, chef and homemaker knows, presentation is key. I prefer to dine on contemporary dishes for certain meals. While I enjoy traditional breakfast meals on classic dinnerware. The square dinner plates were a gift from my mother, so I found a similar modern dinnerware set for a great deal. I'm considering updating our daily dining with this set! As for daily tea time, I go for a classic white tea cup set for everyday use. This one from Bloomingdales comes with a tea cup and also a saucer . Happy Sunday Dolls, Sunday is a day for relaxation and family bonding . Saturday is me and my husband’s Sabbath day so today is a new week for us. This Sunday morning has been a peaceful one for me. Hopefully this post will inspire you with your next free morning of relaxation. Here’s my Sunday Morning Routine: Waking Up • My morning wake-up call is my husband’s voice and warm embrace. My morning isn’t as sweet or desired without this. This early morning shown affection is something I cherish very deeply and I can't bear a day without it. As a woman, I view daily affection as a key to a healthy relationship. For me and my marriage, it begins in the morning. Finding a time every day to express love to your husband in some way is very important. Afterwards, I do my prim and lazy cat nap stretch and begin with my morning prayer. I’ve made it my task to pursue God every morning by hearing and reading his word as I used to do. I have my choice of my personal Bible, which my dear sister-in-law gave to me, or my ‘Bible’ app. Starting My Day • Next I ready myself for the day, by beginning my morning cleansing routine. I go to my vanity and I examine how my skin is feeling. On certain days I use my HiMirror to examine my skin if I feel unsure or adventurous with my skincare endeavors. I turn on my Louis Armstrong Playlist and begin. If I could meet any celebrity, it would be him. If only I could see him perform live in New Orleans. I would dance freely in my custom Ebony Nikita dress. Music in the morning is a great way to wake you up and begin your day on a good note, ESPECIALLY if its jazz music , wink wink. That’s How Strong My Love Is by Ottis Redding After my refreshing shower, I dressed myself in my red puff, long sleeve dress that you all will see in my upcoming Fall/Winter Lookbook. I also decided to wrap my passion twists into a low side bun. Breakfast • Since my husband was doing quiet time, I made my way downstairs for a quick morning breakfast. I noticed the sun was shining beautifully this morning. Glory to Yahweh. I made a small bowl of Special K Pumpkin Spice Cereal and readied my boiling water for tea. I chose Yogi Blueberry Energizing Tea this morning. I used two spoonfuls of organic honey & two packs of Ecostick sugars. So you can imagine how sweet this was. My breakfast was quick and delightful. Last night I received my December issue of Harper's Bazaar, so I decided to leisurely flip through a couple of pages. I’m trying to get back into the habit of reading (even if it's a magazine haha). Before I've fancied a really great book named "The Art of the Table" by Suzanne Von Drachenfels. As a wife and simply as a lady, I take it upon myself to learn about table settings and dining fundamentals. Those are two subjects rarely taught or spoken about. It's important to offer family and guests with the best dining experience in your home. It's also immensely significant to know how to conduct yourself within a formal setting. I encourage everyone to partake in reading an informative book. This could benefit you in your future in many ways. After a couple of concentrated page flips, my husband came downstairs and surprised me with the most delicious slice of avocado toast. It was something so simple yet so delectable. It was so delicious that I decided to post it in my blog. Man do I wish I could take credit for this. Recipe : 4 organic avocados 2 slices of whole grain wheat bread Freshly grounded black pepper 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil A squeeze of lemon 1. Mash 4 organic avocados in a small bowl 2. Toast 2 slices of whole grain wheat bread 3. Evenly spread the mashed avocado on the 2 slices of toast 4. Evenly distribute a couple of cracks of freshly grounded black pepper on each toast 5. Lightly drizzle about 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil on each toast 6. Finish off with a squeeze of lemon on each slice of toast! (Adds freshness & balances out the flavors) I took one bite of this and I realized this breakfast dish was simple yet flavorful. One slice satisfied my appetite and it completed my breakfast. There are days when I skip breakfast and I usually regret it. If you're like me and you tend to lack enough time to make breakfast, try to rework your schedule and fit in an extra 15 minutes so you will be able to enjoy a simple breakfast. You will thank yourself later. I am pleased that I had a healthy balanced breakfast which supplied me with energy and a happy full stomach. Ending my Morning & Beginning Noon • The best way to wrap up any time of the day is with my beloved. My husband and I spent time together while we ate. We spoke about our upcoming schedule and plans for the week. We also admired the surprisingly perfect warm weather. It’s the type of weather that calls for a picnic or a nice walk in the neighborhood. We eventually made our way back upstairs in our room and relaxed on our bed. I hope some of these tips registered with you. Although some of these suggestions may be simple, there are times when we need a small reminder. Thank you all for reading this post. This is a rich and creamy dessert that tastes like the fall time. It has just the right amount of sweetness and spice. This is an easy dessert to make for all levels of bakers. Watch my Fall Housewife Diary Vlog to see me bake this delicious dessert. Ingredients 1 & 3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour 2 tsp Baking Powder ½ tsp Salt 2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice 3/4 cup Pumpkin Puree 2 Eggs 1 3/4 cups Sugar ½ cup Vegetable Oil For the Cream Cheese Layer 8 oz Cream Cheese softened 1 Egg ½ cup Sugar 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract 1.5 tbsp Flour Directions Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice together in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs, sugar, vegetable oil and pumpkin puree until smooth. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until smooth. In a separate bowl, mix together all of the ingredients for the cream cheese layer. You want this layer to be a medium consistency and not too runny. This will ensure you keep the layer of cream cheese visible as it bakes. Lightly coat the loaf pan with oil. Pour half of the pumpkin batter into the loaf pan. Add the cream cheese layer into the pan then top with the remaining pumpkin batter. Bake for 65-70 minutes at 325F. Remove from oven & let cool before slicing. PREP 20mins (plus at least 30 minutes chilling) BAKE 15-20mins COOL 5mins if you can wait that long ;) 5 cups of self-rising flour 3 sticks of salted butter (3/4 cups) 2 tablespoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 tablespoon of salt 2 large eggs (plus 1 large egg for brushing 1 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk Whisk the flour, baking powder and baking soda together in a large bowl. Then cut & add the butter into the large bowl. Mix together until the butter pieces are even and well combined with the flour mixture. Add the beaten eggs into the mixture until combined. Stir in buttermilk which should create a sticky dough mass. (Add in 1 tbsp at a time if dough mass is too dry) Cover the large bowl & refrigerate for at least 30 minutes & up to overnight. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Flour your work surface & flour your hands before working with the sticky dough. (Be sure to have a wide countertop space) Place & flatten dough on floured work surface. Use a floured 2 1/4-inch round cutter (or a floured plastic cup) to cut about 20 biscuits. Place the biscuits on the lined baking sheet, arranging them to touch. Take a small dish and add 1 tablespoon of buttermilk and the remaining egg. Brush this mixture on top of the biscuits. Bake until golden brown for about 15-20 minutes. et voila! Delicious homemade southern buttermilk biscuits to grace your dining table. Enjoy these biscuits with jam, jelly, honey, gravy or use them for a biscuit-style chicken pot pie! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Hello Dolls, I’m a bit too addicted to this morning coffee recipe. This is a sweet way to wake up with a cup of coffee! A bit of hot chocolate in your coffee mix will have you feeling festive & cozy. This recipe is simple to make & if you use these ingredients, you’ll love it as much as I do. Your usual cup of coffee 2 tablespoons of your favorite hot chocolate 2 tablespoons of Irish Creme Creamer 2 teaspoons of sugar, optional or to your liking A swirl of whipped cream A sprinkle of cinnamon directions: Add 2 tablespoons of hot cocoa to your hot coffee Add in the Irish Creme creamer & sugar then mix together Swirl on Whipped Cream, be generous Sprinkle on cinnamon or your favorite toppings! Marshmallows, sprinkles, graham cracker crumbles, cinnamon sugar, etc. et Voila!

Cream Blush Okay Dolls, any cream blush with the PML foundation is a pure modelesque, perfect-skin dream. My current favorite is the Shiseido Minimalist whipped powder blush in the perfect pinky coral color in Sonoya 1. If you can find it, buy it! Its been going in & out of stock for the past couple of months now. I’m afraid it may be discontinued soon! It’s lightweight, velvety and melts in the skin beautifully. It’s buildable so you can really apply it lightly for that barely-there, natural makeup look or you can go full Kawaii-girl blush without looking crazy. I used this blush in my 6 am Housewife Morning Routine Vlog. The Westman Atelier blush cream stick is another great selection. I have it in the color Poppet. Watch My 15-minute Feminine Beauty routine to see it in action. My next cream blush on my wishlist is the LYS matte cream blush in ANY color. I’ve swatched their shades & their formula seems unique & yummy! Either way, cream blush melts into your skin and gives you a naturally flushed look. I even wear it on my no-foundation days. I can’t do without it this summer! Sunscreen And now I’m a believer . Honestly, I remained unbothered about applying sunscreen every day. I come from a family of islanders & southerners, where both climates get HOT. I only knew of one aunt who wore sunscreen every day. So, sunscreen wasn’t a priority for me unless I decided to go to the beach. Ever since my esthetician gave me sunscreen after getting a TCA peel, I have really seen the difference when it comes to dark spots after acne marks. (BTW my skin has been HEALTHILY GLOWING after that TCA Peel, amen ! I’ll share more about my experience in my next vlog) Now, I don’t leave the house without a quick sunscreen application. I’ve been using my esthetician’s brand, but since running out I’ve used the Innisfree sunscreen . Foundation This is what healthy skin looks like. I was daring enough to wear the PML sublime perfection foundation without setting it with powder and……I loveWith or without powder, your skin looks healthy, glowing & like skin . This has swooped in as my go-to foundation. It’s lightweight but gives a beautiful finish and it’s buildable for more coverage. I would say this foundation leans more towards the medium-light coverage. Not exactly medium coverage and not exactly light coverage. This is perfect for the summer season. Lash extensions So, this is an obvious beauty staple for me, and I recommend lash extensions for all seasons. Yet, the summer calls for easy, care-free beauty fun, and lash extensions cater to that lifestyle. I used to be a strip lash girl, but I can’t be bothered with that maintenance, especially during the spontaneous summer days & nights. You can go for a lighter ‘’classic’ set for the lighter and natural look or you can go for my go-to, the hybrid set. Hybrid lashes are the perfect medium between the light and the full set of lashes. It’s appropriate for work, play, and planned rendezvous. Every 2-3 weeks, you will have to get refills to keep up the look or you can do one-and-done lash extensions for holidays, vacations & special events. Lipstick I could definitely go for a tinted lip oil + lip liner combo for the summer season, BUT there’s something about a nude matte lip that still captures me. These two opposite lip combos fight for me every day. I do make a choice based on my mood and outfit. The Dior Nude Look 100, is a darling lipstick choice for the summer season. A matte lip gives a chic finish to any look. I pair this lipstick with a burgundy-brown lip liner et voila! Summer nude chicness in 2 easy steps. Sometimes I even pair this lip combo with a shiny lip gloss if my spirit beckons for it. Summer fragrance Jasmin des Anges by Maison DIOR gives me the feminine urge to go on a summer Museum date and let the romance blossom over a dinner ONLY if he greets me with cream-colored roses. Not white roses, but cream . This could easily be a signature fragrance for any feminine lady. It’s sexy, soft, sweet, and alluring. You can wear this parfum day or night. Dior says: The fragrance Jasmin des Anges is like a stroll through the fields of jasmine in Grasse, where the scent of the flower fills the air. This fragrance is rooted in the south of France and echoes the name of the legendary Baie des Anges in Nice. Its fragrance trail lingers in the air like the late summer.
