Hello Dolls, In my latest feminine fashion video, I compare and contrast the small black Lady Dior to the this gorgeous medium white Lady Dior. I've already done an in-depth review video and blog post of the small Lady Dior, so today, let's go over this darling white Lady Dior. I've always wanted a timeless and classic white handbag and I was elated to finally add this Lady Dior into my 'Capsule Forever' handbag collection. I felt Dior's feminine Cannage quilting would be the best design for such a light-colored purse. I always thought I would get a small-sized white handbag, since I would primarily wear the white handbag for more formal and dressy occasions. Yet, I'm really happy I chose it in the medium size. To experience the Lady Dior in a larger size really gives you a better insight for your next purchase. Its extra space is of course very convenient for us bloggers, bloggers and those who refuse to 'travel light'. I go over 'What Fits Inside?' of the Medium Lady Dior in the 'Small vs Medium Lady Dior video'. The Wear of White Lambskin I do notice the white lambskin shows more creases and you do have to be more careful with it. I'm much more cautious with makeup on my hands, lotions and possible marks when I'm out and about. For every light-colored handbag you have to be a bit more careful. The Care & Caution I keep my handbags stored in the dust bag. When I wear my luxury handbags out, I actually travel with the dust bag in the car. Once I get to the venue, restaurant or the shopping area, I take out my handbag to wear. I usually don't wear this handbag as a crossbody. I want to avoid color transfer from my clothing. Also, with my style and outfits, handbags usually look best held as a top-handle or in the crook of my arm. I primarily wear light-colored clothing so I don't really worry too much about color transfer. So far I haven't experienced any color-transfer. How to Style I love wearing the white lady dior with bright colored outfits, or for a 2-color look or a monochromatic look. In my Chanel-inspired Outfit lookbook, you can see how I style the white handbag with my ensembles. Is a White Lambskin Handbag worth the Investment? Owning a white designer is essential to my Forever Handbag collection. Many luxury handbag-lovers are afraid of yellowing, color-transfer, stains, scuffs & marks. This came to my mind prior to purchasing. Yet, I knew owning a white designer purse would suit the tremendous need in my Forever wardrobe. This is not my everyday handbag by any means. So I don't get everyday-wear results on this occassional-wear handbag. Therefore, I've set my expectations for the lifetime wear for this handbag. I do wear this handbag more often in the spring and summer season, but I also wear it occasionally in the fall and winter season. It is an elegant, dressy handbag and that's a fine investment for me. As long as I take care of my handbag during and after every wear and store it properly, then I see this handbag lasting for many years to come. I truly don't believe any handbag is worth over $5000. Yet, if you're willing to spurlge on one piece, I would highly recommend the Medium Lady Dior over the Small Lady Dior. Hello Dolls, This simple and delectable butternut squash soup soothes my eager autumnal tastebuds. In my Autumn Homemaking Vlog, I shared 3, yes 3, autumn recipes. This recipe was simplest to make and you can see that step-by-step in my Autumn Housewife Diary vlog. Let's Start Cooking! 1 large butternut squash 4 cups of chicken broth or vegetable broth 1 tablespoon of garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon maple syrup 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 tablespoon salt Freshly ground black pepper, to taste 1 tablespoon olive oil Whole milk for drizzle, optional Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut butternut squash in half. Place the butternut squash on the pan and lightly drizzle each half with olive oil. Rub in the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Turn the squash face down and roast for 40-50 minutes. It should be fork-tender. Let cool for about 10 minutes. In a small saucepan, add chicken broth, garlic powder, salt, ground nutmeg, maple syrup and butter. Bring to simmer. Scoop the butternut squash flesh into your blender. Toss away the outer layer skin. Add the chicken broth mixture into blender and pulse blend until smooth. Taste & stir in more salt and pepper, if needed. Drizzle whole milk on top. Garnish with dried parsley. et voila! A warm & creamy bowl of Roasted Butternut Squash Soup! Serve with garlic bread, a side salad, or make it a soup & sandwich duo. Hello Dolls, Now I'm a southern belle, so I love me some peach cobbler. Yet, when it's not peach season, this is the next best thing. In my Peaceful Days in Fall - Autumn Housewife Diary Vlog, I shared my new favorite autumn dessert. This Apple Cobbler recipe is sweet, rich and deliciously paired with vanilla ice cream, topped with a caramel drizzle. This is a beginner-friendly recipe and I find it to be quicker and easier than ruffling together a homemade apple pie. I find it admirable to make a homemade dessert for guests or bring a homemade dessert to holiday events. This recipe is simple, doesn't require too many ingredients or steps and it would be a fantastic crowd-pleaser. Let's Bake! Apple Filling 4 honey crisp apples 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon A pinch of nutmeg 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 tablespoon of lemon juice Cobbler Topping 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 3/4 cup whole milk 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1. Preheat the Oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9x6 baking casserole dish or 6 ramekins. Set aside. I used both dishes for this apple cobbler recipe in the 2022 Autumn Housewife Diary Vlog. To Make the Apple Filling 2. Peel, core and slice apples into eighths. If you're using ramekins, be sure to dice the apples. 3. In a bowl, add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and lemon juice. Then mix. 4. Add in the sliced apples and toss together. Make sure the apples are evenly coated with the mixture. 5. Add the apple filling into the buttered baking dish. To Make the Cobbler Topping 5. In a separate medium-sized bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together. 6. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. 7. Pour the cobbler topping on top of the apple filling. 8. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes until top is golden brown. 9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla icecream and a drizzle of caramel. et Voila! Its warm, incredibly moist & strums the perfect tune to any autumn lover's heart. It is my favorite pumpkin dessert I've baked to this day! Watch me prepare & bake this recipe in my Housewife Diary Vlog. Muffins 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (187.5 grams) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil (80 ml) 1/2 cup brown sugar (100 grams) 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams) 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 cup milk (60 ml) 1 cup pure pumpkin puree (240 ml) Streusel Top 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (62.5 grams) 1/4 cup brown sugar (50 grams) 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams) 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter (56 grams) Glaze 1/2 cup powdered sugar (55 grams) 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Line your muffin pan with muffin liners, or as I shown in my Homemaking Vlog, butter the pan, then line with triangle-cut parchment paper. I also used jumbo muffin tins. Shop my baking favorites HERE. Pumpkin Muffin Batter In a bowl, add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk together until smooth. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, another 1/2 cup of brown sugar, another 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, vanilla, milk and pumpkin puree. Whisk until mixture is smooth & fully incorporated. Pour in 1/2 of the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Whisk together, then add in the remaining dry ingredients. Whisk until smooth and there are no more lumps. Streusel Top This part is incredibly simple. The streusel top creates a complimentary texture for the smooth, moist muffins. Stir together the brown sugar, white sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl Add in the melted butter & mix. The texture should resemble clumpy damp sand. Preparing Your Treats for the Oven Pour the muffin batter evenly between the muffin pan. I fill mine up 90% to achieve at big top. You can also fill it up 3/4 of the way. Add the streusel on top of each muffin. Fill the top generously. You want the tops to be fully covered, so it's okay if it may look like it's a lot. Bake in the preheated oven on 375F degrees for about 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. While the muffins are baking, prepare the glaze icing! (See directions below) Let the muffins cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove the muffins from the pan and continue cooling. Now, its time to create the... Glaze! To optimize time, create the glaze while muffins are baking! Whisk together ½ cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon of milk or cream. You want a thin consistency so you can drizzle the icing on top of the muffins, creating a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled muffins. et Voila! Hello Dolls, Confidence is key. Its something that every main character emulates through their style in every episode, movie and scene. Get my TOP TIPS to perfecting your look! WATCH the Style Video Being the main character in your life also means dressing the part. There is an art to being the main character in your life & an expectation to dress like such. Let’s begin. Choose to be FEARLESS. I know the feeling you can get when you walk into a room & it feels like everyone’s head is turning to look at you. You can either choose to love it or hate it. You can choose to activate your runway walk or shrivel in embarrassment & look down as you B-line to your destination. I will admit, in my past, I’ve put on a darling outfit and thought, ‘Wait, am I overdressed? Do I look too done up?’ In actuality, I’ve dressed appropriately for my planned outing, but I question my look because I fear capturing too much attention. If you look stunning, YES you will capture attention. That’s the reality of looking good. As long as you’re not showing up to a baseball game wearing a silky long dress, then you’re fine. Always dress for the occasion, but there’s nothing wrong with looking polished & stylish. For all the Dolls who have done what I’ve done, please dear stop shrinking yourself. Life is too short to be insecure and worrisome about things that don’t matter. So what, some people may turn their heads to look at you. They will either: A. look at you & pay you a compliment or B. look at you, then continue with their business. It’s not as serious as you may overthink it to be. From what I’ve seen circling on social media, here in America we’re often embarrassed to be overdressed, but certain countries overseas are actually often embarrassed to be underdressed. This is the month, the season, the year, that we dress like the main character no matter where we are. 2. Dress the part, be the part. As the main character, everyone’s eyes glance over to you. Your aesthetic is your personal style, how you choose to brand yourself with your clothes. Whether some choose to accept it or not, everyone has a personal brand. When you go out in public, you’re representing yourself. That occurs whether you’re in the library, going grocery shopping, on a quick coffee run, on a date or going shopping. So now we get into the fun part, choose your STYLE. How does the dream you dress? Create a mood/style board to help you figure out your desired style. This doesn’t mean you have to go on a major shopping spree immediately. Choose out of your board and pinpoint which pieces you currently have in your wardrobe. Then start to create outfits. Don’t forget to be DARING. Create a wardrobe that is timeless, but still pleasing to your current taste & interests. I personally have a feminine style and depending on the day, season, or year it can lean more barbie doll, prep, cottagecore or girly. So don’t put yourself into a box. You can always explore different aesthetics but be sure to curate your wardrobe with the necessary basics. Don’t try too hard to accomplish a certain ‘look’. Being the main character is always about being authentically you. I wouldn’t say Kerry Washington had the most stunning style on her TV show, but it fit her character & it was simply elegant. Don’t overanalyze & put pressure on yourself to meet certain standards. You don’t have to have the classic flap in order to be ‘that girl’ nor do you have to have a crazy large & colorful closet to be ‘interesting’. 5. Create the main character’s wardrobe on their off-days & home. I’ve never seen Blair Waldorf dress in sweatpants and baggy T-shirts during her time at home or when she was waking up. It’s not an on & off outfit that suddenly makes you into the main character. Over the past 2 years, I have curated wardrobes that feed into my aesthetic and cater to my everyday life. I have a collection of elegant and feminine go-to outfits for grocery shopping & errands. I also have a wardrobe for lounging that still allows me to emulate feminine elegance while being comfortable at home. I’ve always seen myself as being the housewife who walks around in silk dresses and stunning robes at home. Therefore, as I shared in my video ‘How to look feminine at home’, I rid my closet of all scruffy old pajamas and slowly built up my nightgown and robe collection. 6. Set a REASONABLE Budget The majority of these items, I purchased at a discount or on sale. As my grandfather told me, just because I have $100, doesn’t mean I want to spend $100. Shop smart, ladies 😉 I try to shop for fall season, in the spring. I shop for Winter items, in the summer. You can shuffle through the leftovers & look through the sale & clearance items for your wardrobe staples & basics. Of course buy your new & interesting pieces when it comes to those heartthrob statement pieces, but save when you can. I often score deals for 70% off retail price! CHOOSE items that COMPLIMENT your BODY SHAPE & KNOW your Seasonal COLOR PALETTE Knowing what colors favor you, is life changing. Yes of course, have fun and experiment with different colors & patterns. Yet, when you find that perfect shade of red, or your favorite color in the most complimentary tone, you'll feel like you're stepping in a whole new world. Are you a Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer? Try taking different quizzes to help you find your color season. I found this color season quiz to be very helpful! Knowing my body shape & the most complimentary silhouettes saves me time & money I remember buying pieces that looked perfect on the mannequin or on the rack, but when I try it on it looked frumpy and unflattering. Pinpointing which silhouettes compliment my shape the best, makes online shopping much easier. Not to mention, you save time from trying on clothing items that just doesn't work.
